More About Inverters
Power inverters change a DC battery power into AC power that can be used to operate handheld tools, kitchen appliances, TVs, radios, computers, etc. Portable power is as simple as connecting the inverter to a battery then plugging AC devices into the inverter. The inverter draws its power from a 12 Volt battery (such as a car battery) or several deep-cycle batteries wired together. As the inverter draws power, the battery needs to be recharged by running the vehicle’s motor or by using a gas generator, solar panels, or battery charger plugged into a working AC outlet, for example.
