Battery-Biz to Release Hi-Capacity® External iPod Battery

NEWBURY PARK, CA – May 23, 2005 – Battery-Biz Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of rechargeable replacement batteries, has announced that it will bring the Hi-Capacity® External iPod Battery to market. The Hi-Capacity® External iPod battery is slightly smaller than the standard iPod device and weighs 57 grams, making it one of the most compact external iPod batteries on the market. The rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack provides up to 14 hours of extended runtime and will also charge the internal battery for most iPod models. The Hi-Capacity® External iPod Battery is compatible with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation iPod models, the iPod Photo model and the iPod Mini model.

The battery attaches to the iPod device with a provided output cable and is held in place with a clear silicon band, thus making the battery almost indistinguishable from the iPod device. The use of an unobtrusive transparent band to connect the battery to the device instead of a heavy plastic sleeve or an unattached corded power supply found in competing models is another distinguishing characteristic of the Hi-Capacity® External iPod Battery.

The Hi-Capacity® External iPod Battery includes an input cable, output cable and silicon attachment band and will be available in the third quarter of 2005 with a suggested retail price of $69.99, making it the most cost-effective solution on the market.
